It also spurs the immune system to kill off any of the tumour left, scientists have revealed. The non-invasive treatment only needs to be partially effective to stop the cancer spreading. I’m always amazed at the responses to my post “I’m still here” and it has become a bit of a catchphrase I use, even in response to a question in my private group. What I see is that many of us are still here and I wanted to dedicate this post to those who frequently […]

The term invisible illness refers to any medical condition that is not outwardly visible to others, even healthcare professionals. Invisible illnesses encompass a broad range of conditions, including heart disease, diabetes, dementia, psychiatric illness, autoimmune disorders, and even cancer. Many Neuroendocrine Cancer patients look outwardly healthy, and this can often lead to a lack of […]

Breaking News It doesn’t seem that long since we got the new improved injection delivery system for the current model of Lanreotide. I had to look at my blog articles for the announcement of that and was surprised it had already been 3 years. It may be a shorter time period for many though, UK […]

The delayed-release capsules contain 20mg of octreotide. The mainstay somatostatin analogues for Neuroendocrine Tumour patients are Lanreotide and Octreotide and I have blogged or mentioned them frequently, and they are probably two of the most written words in my private patient group ……. coupled with “injection” or “shot”. For years, people have talked about the […]

Immunotherapy on the site?
I was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic NET mets to liver in Jan 2019. After a few weeks with a 3-6 mo survival diagnosis some additional tumor analysis found they were Hi-MSI tumors -eligible to be treated with recently approved (for all Hi MSI solid tumors) immunotherapy.
I had great results being treated with ipilumumab + nivolumab for 24 mos. Tumors shrunk to about 10% of the original mass and then were stable for a couple more months. Once the tumors started growing (slowly) again, I came off the original treatment and have been on investigational immunotherapy since. First trail was successful for 3-6 mos. Now I’m onto the 2nd trial and feeling better again.
With an FDA approved immunotherapy for Hi-MSI NETs, suggest it would be useful to have info about immunotherapy on your site. I was treated at MD Anderson in Houston.
The team at MD Anderson almost immediately did tumor analysis that flagged the biomarkers which showed immunotherapy would likely be effective. Suspect not all patients have that good fortune.
Let me know if I can help.

What is your grade and differentation?
The immunotherapy experience with Neuroendocrine Neoplasms is not great, there’s always outliers of course.
