Neuroendocrine Neoplasms are considered solid tumours.
Imugene Limited, a clinical-stage immuno-oncology company, and City of Hope, one of the largest cancer research and treatment organizations in the United States, today announced that the first patient was dosed in Phase 1 clinical trial evaluating the safety of novel cancer-killing virus CF33-hNIS VAXINIA when used in people with advanced solid tumors. The City of Hope-developed oncolytic virus has been shown to shrink colon, lung, breast, ovarian and pancreatic cancer tumors in preclinical laboratory and animal models.
Interestingly, the principal investigator is listed as a NET Specialist. No conclusions should be drawn from this knowledge, and I have no information to suggest that Neuroendocrine patients are included in the patient population of 100 for this trial. The trial is being carried out in 3 US locations so far: City of Hope Duarte, California, Next Oncology, Fairfax, Virginia and Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute, Detroit, Michigan. Additional clinical sites will be opened across the U.S. in 2022 – keep checking amendments to the clinical trials document linked below. Recruitment commenced Apr/May 2022, primary completion date of December 2024.
The clinical trial (NCT05346484) is here to read – click here. As always, the exclusion and inclusion criteria are important. Also read more here

Choosing to participate in a study is an important personal decision. Talk with your doctor and family members or friends about deciding to join a study. To learn more about this study, you or your doctor may contact the study research staff using the contacts provided in the clinical trials document. It’s very important to check the trial inclusion and exclusion criteria before making any contact. The inclusion of any trial within this blog should not be taken as a recommendation by Ronny Allan.
Whenever I post about a trial or study, some people get excited without understanding that these new treatments and capabilities can very often take years to come to fruition and it’s also possible that clinical trials can be halted, or that national approval agencies will not approve the final product. Plus, not everyone will be eligible, so always check the exclusion and inclusion criteria in the relevant clinical trials document. Please bear that in mind when reading studies/clinical trials posted on RonnyAllan.NET
