Hot Saturday cycle ride

Hot Saturday cycle ride

You’re right, this is a strange title for Ronny to use on his blog…….. However, I’m testing a different way to blog from my website to test something which has been annoying me (and others). Anyway, that’s the explantion, now enjoy the pictures and story!

The weather in UK is currently very hot (….. for UK!) so we decided on a slow cycle down to the nearest beach. It was a great and relaxing ride. We had already taken sandwiches for lunch and we just needed a cup of tea (cappachino for Chri) at a place called The Noisy Lobster – a very nice establishment on Avon Beach Mudeford, Dorset. We managed to find a seat on the wall right next to where we parked our bikes – the view looked out to the Isle of Wight and the famous ‘Needles’.

After enjoying one hour in the sun, we headed home a different way. The first few miles duplicated our way down to the beach, but we travelled just south of Bransgore up the cycle route 2 heading for Holmsley Campsite. We stopped there for an ice cream (why not!). After chatting with a nice man from London on holiday in the campsite, we headed up to the Castleman Trailway and then into Burley to take the quiet lanes back into Ringwood and home.

We covered around 30+ miles – it’s easy to do those distances on e-bikes and it’s still exercise – believe it or not, you still need to peddle like a normal bike. They do take the ‘sting’ out of inclines!

My approch to this cycle ride is based on my 6 Es, something I wrote about some years ago following an epic coastal walk. Read about the 6 Es by clicking here.
