2026 Surveillance Update from Ronny Allan: “See you in 12 months”
It’s only a couple of weeks since I celebrated my 16th year since diagnosis of metastatic small intestine Neuroendocrine Tumour (NET) at Grade 2 on
To be honest, I’m still flabbergasted by reaching one million views in 2018, and then reach 2 million in December 2020. I’m over two-thirds of the way to 3 million at 1 Jul 2025. It just happened, there wasn’t a plan! I’m grateful for every single view though.
2025 has been a challenging year, mainly because I’ve had a lot of holidays plus I have a major family commitment which is not looking to be resolved in the near future. That said, the Facebook algorithm does not help! A change in the Facebook page algorithms has affected many ‘pages’ reducing their scope …… the more cynical might say it was done to drive advertising revenue out of these ‘pages’ but Facebook misses the point that some pages are just trying to help others at no or little cost! It’s important that you add all my Facebook pages to your favourites list, that will help get around the algorithm.
Facebook is the most popular route to read my blogs so please add these 3 pages to your favourites list.
Despite the difficulties above, I still managed 105,000 blog views in the first half of the year of 2025, but that is lower than in 2024. The differences between this half year figure and last years, means that I am unlikely to match 2024 figures unless I have an explosion of views. You can help, ask me how.
I’m often surprised at some of my statistics. Sometimes I think I have written a “blockbuster” which then acts like a damp squib! Other times, I knock up a quick blog in 30 minutes and it gets stellar reviews and numbers. It tends to balance out though.
When I look at the top 20 most-read views for 2025 to date, some things stand out and resonate with the above summary of what I like vs what you like. When I extracted these 20 top performing blogs from 2025, I was actually surprised to see some of them make it and I was also surprised not to see some that I thought were a dead cert to be listed – I guess that answers my question above about damp squids and blockbuster!
Check out all 20, you never know what you might have missed and what you might learn!
And, if you make it to the bottom of the list, you’ll find my personal favourite of 2025 so far – it was a flop in terms of statistics.

This did not make it, I do not know why. A little bit of me thinks it’s because I generated an AI lead picture and Facebook restricted it’s distribution. Maybe it was because I like Winston Churchill quotes and others do not! Anyway here it is…….
