PRRT stands for Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy, an FDA-approved therapy used for systemic treatment of neuroendocrine tumours. Peptide refers to the small molecule for this therapy. The Peptide used (e.g. DOTATATE or DOTATOC or DOTANOC) is very similar to Somatostatin, a hormone which binds to receptors found on neuroendocrine tumours.Receptor refers to a specific target on neuroendocrine tumour cells that the peptide attaches to.
